LED lash is having a moment. New devices are showing up in the market every few months, most of them from suppliers who have never done a full set on a real client.
Here's what nobody selling them wants to say out loud: there is no safety standard for LED lash in Australia. Not one. Any brand can put a light on a stick, call it "advanced," and ship it to an artist who has no way of knowing whether it's actually safe to use near someone's eyes.

Two years, one salon, before a single sale
Before LUMMUSE ever became a business, it was a working lash artist — 17 years into her career — testing an early version of the Luminaire on real clients, in her own salon. Not for a weekend. For two years.
That wasn't caution for caution's sake. It was a simple rule: don't put your name on something you haven't proven. If a device carries the LUMMUSE name, it has earned it the same way she did — on the bench, not in a pitch deck.
Why the device isn't enough on its own
Every other supplier in this category sells the device and leaves the artist to work out the rest. We don't. The Luminaire and its certification are one product — not sold separately, not optional. No unit leaves without a certified artist behind it.
That's not a marketing decision. It's the only way a safety standard actually means anything: if anyone can buy the device with no training attached, there's no standard, just a light on a stick with better branding.
Setting the standard before the category has one
Someone is going to define what responsible LED lash practice looks like in this market. Right now, nobody has. We'd rather be the ones who did the work to get there first — mandatory certification, published specifications, and two years of testing before this was ever for sale — than wait for a bad outcome to force the industry's hand.
If you're a lash artist who has been watching LED lash arrive and hasn't found a version you'd stake your reputation on, that's exactly who this was built for. Not every artist who applies will be approved. That's the point.
